Chorus Schedule change

I have a technology training class on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Therefore I will need to cancel chorus that morning.

INSTEAD, will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 8AM .  Please try to be there, as  are need to work on the choreography for Pieces of Gold.

Do you have any small “treasures”, left over trinkets, or kids meal toys laying around? I could use them for my treat box! Classes earn stars for good days in music. Once a class has earned 5 stars, they get a trip to the treat box. As you can imagine, it begins to get expensive keeping it full. I welcome your “input” :-)

Recorder Karate

I use the curriculum called “Recorder Karate”.  It is based on the same principle as Karate, with the students earning “belts” by playing more  and more difficult songs.

The belts are actually colored yarn that they tie around the bell of their recorder.  The students love this and are allowed to progress at their own pace.  They are given time each during each class period to practice as well as to test for a new belt.  Once they earn the black belt, they receive a certificate.  If they are one of the frist 30 to earn a belt, they will be announced on WPAW.

Date to order recorders

We will be starting recorders after the Christmas break.  To save time, I will not do a school wide order. You may purchase a recorder for your child from many places in the area such as  Target, WalMart, and Burrage Music Co.

You will need a Soprano Recorder.  You will not need to purchase any extra books, as the series I use allows me to copy music for student use.
